028 Wood Sandpiper

The wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) is 20 cm long small shorebird. It has light brown back with darker mottling, brownish spots on the neck and breast, dark fine bill, and yellowish legs. In summer, they breed in the wetlands of subartic Europe and Asia, but migrate to India and Africa in winter. The female lays eggs either on the ground or in an abandoned nest of some other bird in a tree.
