016 Yellow Bittern

The Yellow Bittern (Ixobrychus sinensis) is 36-38 cm long small bird with a black crown, dull-yellow back, buff underpart, black flight feathers, a longish yellow bill, short neck, and whitish legs. The birds are resident breeders in most of the regions of the Indian Subcontinent. Their habitat is reedbeds and because of their secretive nature difficult to see.
