553 Large Gray Babbler

The Large Grey Babbler (Turdoides malcolmi) is about 27cm long bird with grey forehead, pale grey rump and uppertail covers, brown body, and creamy white outer tail feathers. It is an Old World babbler commonly found in the scrub, open forest and gardenland south of the Himalayas in India. They are easily distinguished from other babblers by their loud nasal call. It builds a shallow cup-like nest in thorny shrub; the female lays a clutch of four eggs.
