556 Shikara

The Shikara (Accipiter Badius) is a 26-30 cm long bird of prey with grey upperparts and whitish rufous barred underside, rounded wings and a bit longish tail, and a yellow bill and legs. It is a resident breeder in many parts of India and Africa, but moves between dry and humid grasslands. Shikra can be easily trained as a bird of prey, hence a favorite among falconers.
