547 Purple Sunbird (Male,Female)

The Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is about 10 cm long having a down-curved bill with brush-tipped tubular tongues that help in nectar feeding and short square-ended tail. The male has glossy metallic purplish black upper parts and dark brown wings, while the female has olive brown above and yellowish underside. They are well distributed throughout West Asia, India, and Southeast Asia. They are seen in pairs feeding on nectar, fruits and insects.
