The Pied Cuckoo, Pied Crested Cuckoo, or Jacobin Cuckoo (Clamator jacobinus) is a medium-sized, slim, black and white bird with a crest. In summer, they are found breeding south of the Himalayas in India and south of the Sahara in Africa. They are resident in tropical India and Africa. They make a very distinct call of a series of ringing whistling notes while perched in the upper branches of trees. The species is a parasite brooder laying eggs in the nests of other babblers, particularly crows in India.
